Title: Formulation, Optimization, and Evaluation of Caffeine Oral Disintegrating Tablets (ODT's), prepared from the direct compression method using natural excipients
Developed under the guidance of Dr.Mali Gupta , Pharmaceutical Sciences

The objective is to formulate oral disintegrating tablets (ODT’s) of Caffeine with two different natural super-disintegrant mucilage powders (hibiscus rosa-sinensis linn, plantago ovata) using direct compression method. Mixture design will be used to investigate the effect of different variables on the disintegration time and hardness. Based on the statistical data and prediction profiler, the formula that shows the least disintegration time with desired hardness will be considered as the optimized formulation. FTIR, DSC studies will be carried out before and after making the tablets to find physico-chemical interactions between the API and the excipients and further evaluated for hardness, friability, and thickness. Stability studies will be carried at 40 ± 2° C/ 75 ± 5% RH for two weeks.
