Title: The Compressibility Profile Study of Flufenamic acid:Nicotinamide cocrystals
Developed under the guidance of Dr. Rahul Haware , Pharmaceutical Sciences
The primary step in this study involves the synthesis of cocrystals (a crystalline complex) of Flufenamic acid (drug) and Nicotinamide (excipient). The procedure adopted involves gradual solvent evaporation from a supersaturated solution of the drug and excipient. The cocrystals will be characterized for their thermal profile, particle size, and morphology. The resulting cocrystals will be compressed into a tablet by a tablet press. The formed compacts will be evaluated for the improvement in tablet properties, compared to the drug and excipient alone. This study may serve as a novel approach to engineer Flufenamic acid towards improved tableting performance.
