Title: Combined effects of ascorbic acid and doxorubicin in cancer cell killing: Involvement of ROS

Ascorbic acid has been shown to cause cancer cell killing possibly via an oxidative stress mechanism. However, whether ascorbate at non cytotoxic doses could potentiate doxorubicin's cancer cell killing activity has not been investigated. Based on previous study we propose that ascorbic acid may be a promising agent for enhancing doxorubicin cancer therapy.
