Title: Investigation of Demographics and Disease Presentations In Underserved Harnett County, NC
Developed under the guidance of Dr. Christopher Stewart , School of Medicine
The Campbell University Student Run Free Clinic (CUFC), addresses the healthcare needs of the rural underserved population in Harnett County in central North Carolina. This is a retrospective cohort study performed on CUFC patients seen for a medical visit between 03/17/2015 to 07/01/2016 (N=185). Their health records were assessed to find the most common health problems encountered in uninsured patients. Preliminary investigation reveals the top three diseases present in CUFC patients are musculoskeletal diseases, endocrine diseases, and heart disease. Further investigation is being conducted to compare CUFC patient date to the North Carolina population.
