This piece is a study of my sweet companion, Lilly. As it was my first experimentation with watercolor, I utilized the free, expressive nature of the medium to create a painting as full of life and character as Lilly. The purples and blues in her fur serve to indicate the shiny, black nature of her hair, while the loose, colorful background gives the impression of a sunset.
