Title: Effect of Lab Station on Student Performance in the General Chemistry Laboratory

While the effect of seating location on course grades has been studied in lecture halls, less attention has been given to its effect in the laboratory setting. This study will investigate what correlation exists between a student’s laboratory station (i.e., where a student stands in lab) and his or her laboratory and course grades. Data is taken from over 400 students and two semesters of general chemistry I laboratories. This research may lead to policies that would positively impact laboratory learning and skill.
