Laptop Policy
Laptop Loan Types
Two types of loans are available under laptop lending: Short-term lending and Long-term lending.
Short-term lending
Laptops are loaned for 24 hours at a time and may be renewed once. After one renewal, the item must be returned.
Long-term lending/students only
There is a very limited supply of long-term laptops available for a semester-long loan. Long-term laptops must be requested by the student's advisor by using the appropriate Wiggins Library form linked here. Students will receive an email when the laptop is ready and will have 5 days to pick up the laptop or it will be returned to inventory and the student will need to make a new request through their advisor. The loan may not be renewed and must be returned by the due date or overdue fines will apply.
Overdue Fines
Laptops
If the laptop is not renewed before the due date or is returned late, the user will be charged $5.00 per day, up to a maximum of $50.00.
Chargers
If the charger is not renewed before the due date or is returned late, the user will be charged $.25 per day, up to a maximum of $5.00.
User Responsibility
The user is responsible for the item while it is checked out to them. If the item is lost, stolen, or returned with damage, the user will be charged the replacement cost of the item and a $10.00 processing fee, in addition to any overdue fines.
